Organisation : Italian Financial Police
The Guardia di Finanza residential quarters in Campobasso are a standalone three-storey facility with a net floor area of 309 m², built in 1962. The building provides residential accommodation for approximately 24 personnel.
The energy renovation was funded through PREPAC, the Italian national programme supporting the energy renovation of Central Public Administration buildings. Based on the findings of a comprehensive energy audit, the retrofit included improvements to both the building envelope and the technical systems.
The energy assessment estimates annual savings of 51% in natural gas consumption, 40% in electricity consumption, 54.9 MWh of primary energy, and approximately 10.9 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
The main actions implemented to reduce the energy consumption of this building.
Replacement of windows with new high thermal performance units with double glazing and low-emissivity coating, together with the replacement of the existing roller shutters.
Attic floor insulation.
Replacement of the existing conventional boiler with a high-efficiency condensing boiler for space heating and domestic hot water production and Installation of PID room temperature control valve.
Installation of a solar thermal system for domestic hot water (DHW) production, designed to cover at least 50% of the annual DHW demand.
Replacement of existing fluorescent lighting with high-efficiency LEDs technologies.
Total investment funded under the PREPAC programme: 123.583,80 €
Installation of PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) thermostatic control valves, enabling automatic room temperature adjustment in response to occupancy, operating conditions, heat losses and solar gains, thereby improving the overall efficiency of the heating system
